Morgan Barnes is a dedicated attorney with a passion for providing legal services in the field of real estate and has a hometown connection to Charlottesville.

Morgan Barnes embarked on her academic journey by earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from James Madison University. Her educational pursuits then led her to Richmond Law, where she obtained her Juris Doctorate. During law school, she interned at the Virginia Supreme Court, which provided her with invaluable insights into the inner workings of the legal system and enhanced her legal writing skills.

Morgan Barnes started her journey into the legal profession when she was 15 years old, working as a file clerk for Tucker Griffin Barnes (TGB). She continued working for TGB during school breaks throughout high school, college, and law school. She became a full-time associate attorney in April of 2022.

Morgan Barnes primarily focuses her practice on real estate matters, using her in depth knowledge of the industry and attention to detail to help clients navigate the complexities of buying, selling, and managing real estate properties. In addition to real estate, Morgan Barnes also provides legal services in estate planning and estate administration, ensuring that her clients’ legacies are protected, and their loved ones are provided for.

One of Morgan Barnes’ favorite aspects of our law firm is the family-friendly culture that fosters a collaborative and supportive environment, which she believes enhances the quality of legal services we provide.

Outside of her legal career, Morgan Barnes enjoys spending time on the farm with her husband, Clayton Poffenberger, a real estate investment manager for Prairie Diamond Properties. When they are not working on real estate deals, you will find them riding their horses, hiking with their dogs, and spending time with family and friends.

Morgan is a member of the Virginia Bar Association and the Charlottesville-Albemarle Bar Association. Morgan is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia
